About The Book

In Haven, Montana, the shifters and their human allies are safe—for now. But that safety hinges on the town’s location remaining a secret, and it’s about to be compromised.

Cougar shifter Travis Kuger spent the past several years alternating between craving revenge and wishing he could forget his painful past. Ever since the shifter-hating Knights blinded him and killed his family, Haven—and Sheriff Jack Ulger—have been Travis’s refuge.

Travis and Jack know their friendship could be much more, but Jack is part of Haven’s ruling wolf shifter pack. If he takes a non-wolf mate, he could be banished forever. But when a knight infiltrates Haven, love becomes the least of their problems.

Second Edition with updated and revised text.

The Review

Blind Devotion is Book Three in The Shifter Chronicles, and charts Jack and Travis’ journey from the ages of sixteen to thirty-five. Jack is a wolf shifter, and his pack manages Haven, a safe hideaway for paranormals and their spouses, human or otherwise.

Jack’s life is mapped out for him by his family and his pack: get an education, become sheriff and find a wolf mate.

When Travis – a traumatised cougar shifter – arrives, all bets are off. Travis has escaped from the clutches of the Knights, a sinister organization dedicated to eradicating all shifters by any means.

We follow Travis and Jack as they try to come to an understanding. Jack wants to be with Travis and protect him. Travis wants to be left alone in his despair, arising from the deaths of his family members. He may be blind, but he does not want to get close to anyone, and doesn’t want lose anyone else. As a result, he is quite spiteful to Jack. But Jack won’t take a hint.

The turning point comes as a result of a Halloween prank. There are consequences that neither of then anticipated, and it takes a long time for them to get together. There are a number of obstacles for the two of them to overcome before they can become a couple.

The Shifter Chronicles universe is building up nicely with each successive book. This is an exciting read with a few dark moments, some dire threats, and moments of pure joy. I really enjoyed this one!

The Reviewer

Tony is an Englishman living amongst the Welsh and the Other Folk in the mountains of Wales. He lives with his partner of thirty-six years, four dogs, two ponies, various birds, and his bees. He is a retired lecturer and a writer of no renown but that doesn’t stop him enjoying what he used to think of as ‘sensible’ fantasy and sf. He’s surprised to find that if the story is well written and has likeable characters undergoing the trails of life, i.e. falling in love, falling out of love, having a bit of nooky (but not all the time), fending off foes, aliens and monsters, etc., he’ll be happy as a sandperson who has just offloaded a wagon of sand at the going market price. As long as there’s a story, he’s in. He aims to write fair and honest reviews. If he finds he is not the target reader he’ll move on.
