About The Book

Brigganden–Once a thriving city, now a foul necropolis, ruled over by the arisen dead.

The demonic warlord Sha’oul uses dark magic to slaughter all who venture near the fallen city. As his army of undead grows, so does his threat to the neighboring nations. Soon, he will unleash unspeakable horrors upon the realm.

Nomad, a wandering swordsman from the far east, crosses paths with Reza, the leader of an elite troop who stands against the hellish army. The dead know of their presence and hunger for more than just their flesh and blood. The very souls of Reza, her companions, and the rest of the nation are at risk.

Surviving the mutilating horrors of the undead occult alone proves to be more challenging than simply fulfilling their mission.

Inspired by the worlds of Dungeons & Dragons and J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, Shadow of the Arisen is a dark fantasy action adventure novel that pits captivating heroes against Lovecraftian horrors in a hellish world plagued by the undead.

The Review

This was such an incredible book. The world building in this made you feel like you were actually there – from the dark tunnels to the high towers and everything in between. It was all was so descriptive and interesting. And each character has a distinct personality.

This is a dark tale, so if gore is a trigger, this might not be the book for you. But if that doesn’t bother you, I highly recommend it.

I know most people may not agree with me, but Jadu is my favorite character. Even so, I loved every character in this book. Even the bad ones had such depth to them, but Jadu captured my soul from the beginning.

And with the way this book left off, the next one promises to be just as good. I’m thoroughly looking forward to reading it!

Five stars.
