I am the dark foreigner among pale-skinned mercenaries, crossing exposed grasslands. My only ally is a sinister scholar hiding scars from past rituals. He alone knows I carry a child.
Each day assaults my senses and leads me farther away from home. Inevitably, my mission will lead out of isolation to the first Human settlement in my path. With few watching my back and more tempted to exploit it, I wade into an unforgiving test of my training and vigilance, determined not to be pulled down.
Twisted portents and pious zealotry expose danger in every direction, while new, threatening dreams of distant sands muddle my Queen's past with my present. As all close in around me, I must find a way to serve the Valsharess and slip free of man-made chains which would enslave me.
In Black Witch, Death Mage, far-reaching threads and mystical visions constrict to bind those within it, pulling the tales of present and past closer than they've been in thousands of years.
Sister Seekers is dark epic fantasy for adults with an ever-broadening scope. The saga genre-hops a bit so things never get stale. Found Family is a core theme throughout. Perfect for fans of entwined plots, challenging themes, immersive worldbuilding, and elements of erotic horror. Sexuality and inner conflict play into character growth with nuanced intrigue, intense action, and fantastical magic.

"Rethinking being so at ease with a murderer?" Gavin said as though he expected the affirmative but didn't care either way.
Is he jesting?
I chuckled lowly. "I think you're in like company, apprentice. You bore torture when you were too small to defend yourself. When you were larger and knowledgeable, you denied their reasoning for why you must suffer at their hands. You ended their opportunity to continue their enjoyment in using you or anyone else to justify their existence. I approve."
Gavin turned to look at me with suspicion. "You'll pardon my saying this is exactly the sort of reassurance I would expect to hear from a devil or a demon."
I rolled my eyes. "I am interested if you discovered a taste for it. Like Sarilis."
When he didn't answer, I asked, "Have you continued poisoning others? Or explored other methods to hasten your learning about death?"
READ MOREHis scowl grew quite ugly, but he answered. "No. Though I did not let opportunity to observe pass me by. I drifted among violent, fearful men and among many graves. They were what I knew."
"Until came the day you decided to cross the Midway." I looked around at the open sky and vast grassland. "Where there seem far fewer of those."
"Indeed," he remarked dryly.
"And came upon a tower, tolerating more of the same until you were again unable to stay. And were forced out for reasons unknown."
Gavin held up a long, pale finger, picking up his kit and book with his other hand. "We may cease this discussion here. I am lying down."
I grinned. "Very well." As he stood up, I added, "There is no judgment from me, mage. I am familiar with such stories among my own."
"A sure relief to hear," he said without inflection.
"I am glad. Sleep well."
COLLAPSEI devoured this and the previous books within a few days. I love it! The world is detailed and consistent. The plot keeps you guessing, even if you have an idea of what happens. The characters are considerably fleshed out and realistic. It's fantastic! I eagerly await the next novel, though I realize it'll be awhile. Make sure you have some time set aside to read this because it sucks you in and it's near impossible to put down.
