Amazon Customer on Amazon wrote:The light science fiction and drama adventure continues for the characters of Author Suen’s Alterations trilogy.
In the second part of the series, the characters are dealing with the fallout of much of what happened in the first volume. Like the first, the drama and character situations are well-described and compelling. The author’s language is concise and she made each of the character’s narrative unique and engaging. The science details are light yet realistic enough to be plausible near-future tech that we might see on our horizon.
This is a quick read and a great continuation and I look forward to the third installment!
Bena on Amazon wrote:After losing his laboratory and the project of his entire life, Dr. Kite became a true recluse with no purpose in life. One day, however, he met a girl who will soon not only bring him back to life but inspire him for quite a new experiment…
Meeting the already familiar characters from book one was interesting for two reasons: one, I got to know how they got on with their lives after their encounter with Dr. Kite; second, I was intrigued by the agenda that one of them had in mind. The concept was fresh and original, and Dr. Kite’s new field of research left me wondering how this will all turn out. Really enjoyed it!

OHHHHH! This had more than part one and filled some gaps to the story that were definitely necessary.
The Good
There was a lot more on Ellen and the night and the delightful Brad. You won't believe it - but I actually had a dream this thing happened to me! After reading the first book - I felt frustrated that the author hadn't explored that. I felt better about book 2!The Bad
There was a twist. A very interesting twist and I actually can't wait to read book 3 of this series. I haven't felt this excited about anything since Harry Potter! But this is not anything like that. This is sci-fi in a realistic form. The Ugly
Again, because these are novellas - you can't help but want more. I didn't like the ending of this book - but at the same time - I can't wait to read the next one.
The writing is clear and simple and perfect for commuting. I really recommend!
This is the second book in Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen. It was tremendously engaging and quick to read. This book builds on Book 1, expanding on the stories of Gigi, Ellen and Lily. And of course, Dr. Kite. From a sci-fi perspective, this had all the right elements including a well thought out plot, some romance and suspense. Liked it a lot!
