I rolled out of bed early, making my way to the window. Each morning, I found solace in this simple ritual of gazing upon the courtyard below. What I witnessed was nothing short of surreal yet breathtaking. Towering seaweed structures resembling ancient prehistoric trees lined the walkway.
The experience of walking in the courtyard each morning was spectacular and visually stunning. Each step was a journey through a mesmerizing display of colors, courtesy of the coral bed on either side. Our manor, an architectural wonder, stood proud, reminiscent of a Scottish castle.
The sky, or rather, the dome above us, exuded a gentle radiance, casting a bright, refracted blue hue that made the water shimmer with a peaceful, almost otherworldly vibe. Living in this aquatic paradise felt like stepping into a dream. Standing there, I couldn’t help but yearn for Echo’s presence to complete this magical experience.
READ MORE“Mr. Ven, sir,” Rune called out quietly from behind me, giving me a start. I was surprised he disturbed me while I was in the courtyard. This was my place of solace, and he knew not to interrupt me out here. I turned to face him. The scowl on my face and my clenched jaw eased when I saw his face. He looked genuinely happy as if he had news for me. He approached me with an unusual closeness for a guard addressing a member of the Sovereignty. I knew this was something personal, and that lifted my spirits.
“Rune, what are you doing out here?” I asked pointedly.
“I know I’m not supposed to disturb you when you are out in the courtyard, but this is an HLA matter,” He whispered. A smile formed on my lips.
“What is it?” I asked, matching his whispered tone.
“It’s best if I showed you. Would you follow me?” He asked, waiting for a reply from me. I nodded my head, and he swam off. I eagerly followed him. I knew he was taking me to some secret rendezvous spot to see Echo. Just the thought of it was exhilarating.
