Debbie is the proud recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including the International Impact Book Award and the Literary Titan Gold Book Award for both Nonfiction and Fiction categories, and winner-first place fiction-epic-fantasy from Bookfest. Her acclaimed books, "What is the Meaning of Life? YOU" and "PILLYWIGGIN The Lost Shadow Boys," have deeply connected with audiences, and have earned her a devoted fan base.
Debbie first gained recognition with her thrilling science-fiction comic book series, "Black Tide," originally published by Image Comics. Set against the backdrop of ancient Atlantis, this present-day action series combines elements of history with gripping adventure. The graphic novel "Awakening of the Key" with art by Mike S. Miller, collects the first eight episodes of "Black Tide," while Volume 2 introduces DR, the original Draconian Warrior, featuring artwork by the renowned Norm Breyfogle. In addition, her teen novel "Enter The Game" goes into the backstory of Justin, the main character from "Black Tide."
Her latest fantasy novel, "Pillywiggin: The Lost Shadow Boys," invites readers on an enchanting journey through magical realms and courageous heroes, and has earned high praise from fans and critics alike.
When asked about her inspiration for writing, Debbie shared, "I hope my stories are enjoyable. The scenes come in and unfold like I am watching a movie. I just write them down. Of course, I do a lot of research to get to that point. I like writing fiction set in real world, real science and history. The characters all thrive - eventually - even in horrid environments. They inspire me."
At the request of stop-motion animation legend Ray Harryhausen, Debbie co-authored the novel "War Eagles." Working alongside Carl Macek, they crafted a new, original story inspired by a concept from Merian C. Cooper, the creator of "King Kong,” a collaboration that brought Ray’s dream for "War Eagles" closer to reality, integrating historical facts, new characters, and innovative technology to engage modern audiences.
Children's chapter book, "The Fairies of Bladderwhack Pond" is beautifully illustrated by Andy Park (now Director of Visual Development at Marvel Studios).
Bishop co-authored, "The Pre-Fab Cookbook", with her sister, Cori Berg. The humorous cookbook written from the viewpoint of cartoon characters Dish & Flo, includes delicious recipes and entertaining ideas. "Meals You Can Make In Less Time Than It Takes To Do Your Hair", "No Kidding, You Want To Cook Breakfast?", "Udder Decadence" (Yummy desserts) and much more!
Debbie Bishop continues to inspire and empower through her storytelling.

Summary: @debbiebishop_ WINNER - LITERARY TITAN GOLD BOOK AWARD - FICTION WINNER - FIRST PLACE FICTION-FANTASY-EPIC INTERNATIONAL BOOK AWARDS WINNER - FIRST PLACE FICTION-FANTASY BOOKFEST "I highly recommend this book to tween readers who enjoy high fantasy, such as The Lord of the Rings..." Literary Titan reviewer "Pillywiggin: The Lost Shadow Boys by Debbie Bishop strikes a perfect balance between the fantastical and the relatable, making it both enjoyable and profoundly meaningful." "In the perilous world of Mantelrealm, survival is a formidable challenge, particularly for Jayce, who leads a group of young boys captured by a malevolent witch during a massive battle. Despite possessing fairy magic, their escape from the blistering prison is not an option through flight. Instead, they are forced to craft makeshift tools to mine fairy dust under the vigilant eyes of mercenary dragons and enigmatic creatures known as Oddizens. Their only hope for freedom lies in a boy who managed to escape and smuggled in supplies. However, with past escape attempts having failed and time running out, they anxiously await the fulfillment of a prophecy that foretells the arrival of a girl destined to save them. But will she arrive in time? Pillywiggin: The Lost Shadow Boys by Debbie Bishop strikes a perfect balance between the fantastical and the relatable, making it both enjoyable and profoundly meaningful. The young protagonists, despite their age, bear the weighty responsibilities and challenges typically associated with adulthood. This stark contrast between their youth and the burdens they carry evokes a deep sense of empathy. Their struggles with loss, responsibility, and survival in an unforgiving world mirror the real-life challenges many young people face today, who are forced to mature too quickly. This unexpected depth adds a compelling layer to the story, transforming it into more than just a fantastical escape. The language used in the book is highly accessible, broadening its appeal to readers as young as twelve. Though firmly within the fantasy genre, the plot remains easy to follow. This accessibility is particularly evident in how Bishop introduces and develops the story’s prophecy..."
